Lynn Hoover, owner of Dog Quirks LLC, is dedicated to using humane, state-of-the-art methods that rely on classical and operant conditioning.   She is deeply involved in education, information research and writing on dog behavior consulting and related topics. In addition, Lynn has years of experience as a family therapist and information researcher. She brings her understanding of illness and it's impact to her work on behalf of dogs with behavior problems.

  • Author of Dog Quirks and Behavior Solutions , tbp Spring, 2010. This is a groundbreaking book for dog families, behavior professionals and trainers.
  • Author of text for behavior professionals, The Family in Dog Behavior Consulting (2004)
  • Earned a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work in 1977- Program for Advanced Standing, University of Maryland School of Social Work & Community Planning.  BA in Psychology 
  •  In 1983 - Completed Marriage & Family Therapy Training Program through  the Marriage Council of Philadelphia, affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, Medical School, Division of Family Studies
  • Maintain eligibility for Clinical membership, American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Committed to integrating concepts from family systems theory and a collaborative animal healthcare model with dog behavior consulting.
  • Lynn founded the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, Inc. (IAABC) is 2003 and served as President and Chair of the Dog division for 4 years. She is a strong advocate for professionalism and meaningful certification.
  • In 2007 the Lynn Hoover Visionary annual award for vision and leadership was established in Lynn's honor by the IAABC Board of Directors.
  • Experience teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. A former faculty field instructor for graduate students from Bryn Mawr College, the University of Maryland, and the University of Pennsylvania.
